The Mall is open!
And then, after hours and days and months and years of building, the gates of the Mall were finally ready to be opened for the public.
The first family that showed up - at 6 AM mind you, such enthousiasm - were Cameron's plantsim sister Bryony with husband and sons. While mom immediately headed to Lady's Fashion, the guys took the elevator to be able to enter the sports shop upstairs (since the door downstairs was still locked, opening at 8AM). Mom didn't have a problem to enter Fashion's because those stores are behind the barrier-to-entry system. Set to respectively just allow males and females, to keep the ITF mannequins strictly the gender as intended.

Next time I opened my game the bakery appeared to be very popular. Nobody bought the cakes, created years ago by genie Silas but still very delicious. Absolutely perfect, to be more precise. Sims looked but didn't purchase though. Fortunately I might add, because I don't have genies nor great bakers in my current household to resupply the display.
Lady's Fashion had non buying clients as well.
In the meantime mister Bald had entered the bakery, apparently determined to make a scene by attacking the poor cashier.
After this I saw him leaving the shop, heading upstairs. Curious what he had in mind, I followed him.
Back in the bakery the dust had settled again.
The launderette got another customer.
Nothing wrong with doing something useful when waiting for your clothes to get clean.
The only shop that constantly was crowded was the bakery. But the pies stayed untouched. Were all residents on a diet?
And why is Cameron's very married friend Naomi drinking tea with some mysterious, goodlooking stranger!?
I was a bit worried what would happen to the laundry in the machines, so when I witnessed mr. Bald going upstairs again, I waited expectantly.
YAAAAY!!!
Him actually sitting down on one of the chairs I'd put there for that purpose ♥♥♥
Naomi appeared to have left mister Sunglasses to check out some bridal dresses. You're already married, girl!
"So? I like them and I have the money."
"And I like that one too."
Jeannie on the run.
And sure enough, Naomi also had bought the third bridal dress. I caught her wearing it while tidying up the toy store. Those cars were for decoration but fair enough, I gave you the neat trait myself.
18:00 PM, closing time! Everybody out please.
I had spent the entire sim day in the mall, leaving my household completely to their own devices, just allowing Cameron to go to a party at one point. So when I finally returned to them, daughter Jodie was in the swimming pool, son Daryl just had finished dinner and former imaginary friend Pal was chatting on the internet. All had done their homework. And mom Cameron I caught at the party in an interesting conversation with Emit Relevart's hologram. Here's why I love Sims 3, right there.
That's Emilio by the way, Naomi's husband. Unaware how much money his wife spent today on three wedding dresses and a blue jump suit and who she had a cup of tea with.
Next time I played, mr. Bald appeared to have gone inside again and he began to intrigue me. Found out he's called Yves Hernandez but I can't find anything about him on Sims Wiki's. He's not a default puddingface though, with all sliders in the middle. He's not an Isla Paradiso resident, so he must be homeless. Poor chap (if he didn't have such an unpleasant nature). Where would he sleep. And then I got an idea.
Why not add a furniture depot on the top floor! With beds, so that anyone without one of his own can take a nap in my mall. So I started and when I had to quit playing, I saved and let the game run for a moment. Yves may be a brawler, he's also a very grateful guy. Because he immediately went upstairs to check out my new store-under-construction.
Not to sleep though, he went right through the room and took the elevator down.
Oops.
Next time this side of the store was almost ready and again Yves was kind enough to come and take a look.
And then simmer Auroraskies over at the official EA forum suggested Yves might be Florita Hernandez' unborn child (when you start playing in IP). Turns out he is lol! Which makes him Jodie's half brother, sort of (her dad married Florita). In a way it's a disappointment he doesn't need my bed store after all, he's got a bed of his own and a roof above his head. Which is probably why he'd just check out the room when I tested (disapproving) but never stepped into one. And when I continued playing, left the building.
